John F. “Jack” Hogan, Sr. passed away July 25th, 2013, at the age of 83 in Naples, FL. Formerly of Eastchester, NY and Harwich Port, MA, he was predeceased by his wife Joan (née Vail) in 2001. A loving father to Joan, Patricia (Diana), Anne (Bob), John, Courtney (Reid), David (Meg), Christopher (Elizabeth), and Mark (Julie) and proud Grandpa to Joan, James, Claire, Connor, Juliana, Jeremy, Audrey, Olivia, Vail, and Ryan. Born in his beloved Bronx, NY, Jack graduated from All Hallows, the College of the Holy Cross in Worcester, MA and Columbia University Graduate School. Jack had a long and distinguished career in advertising, holding senior executive positions at Erwin Wasey, Ruthrauff & Ryan; BBDO; Rumrill-Hoyt; and DePalma & Hogan Advertising where he retired as Chairman and CEO in 1985. Jack was a devout Catholic, a gifted raconteur, mentor, athlete, and friend. One-of-a-kind, Jack will be sorely missed by all who knew him. Calling hours at the Fred H. McGrath & Son Funeral Home, Bronxville between the hours of 2 to 4pm and 6 to 9pm Tuesday, July 30. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Church of the Annunciation, Crestwood on Wednesday, July 31 at 10:00 am. In lieu of flowers, it was Jack’s wish that donations instead be made to All Hallows High School c/o Development Office, 111 East 164th Street Bronx, NY 10452.
