Mary Angela (“Angela”) Buchman, age 73, passed away on July 25, 2013, after a courageous battle with ovarian cancer.  Angela was born in Ridgeway, IL and graduated from Southern Illinois University in Carbondale, IL.  She lived in New York City, Stamford, CT, Tokyo and Los Angeles before settling once again in Stamford in 2002.  She is survived by her daughter, Jennifer Buchman of Portland, OR; her daughter and son-in-law, Romy and David Coquillette of Bronxville, NY; her sister Wanda Avila of Washington, DC and her loving grandchildren, Jacqueline, Peter and Christopher.  Angela’s zest for life was exemplified by the variety of careers she held including a middle school math teacher, flight attendant, computer specialist, interior designer, real estate agent as well as a day trader.  Having lived in Japan in the late 1960s, Angela developed a lifelong love of Japanese arts and culture.  She also loved all things French, having spent a year in Paris and the South of France in 1994 (with her beloved dog, Louis).  She was an accomplished tennis player, golfer and all-around athlete.  She loved the beach, great food, movies, reading, interesting conversation, following the financial markets and fun times with her many friends. She was a wonderful cook and entertainer.  Angela was also dedicated to her Catholic faith.  Her greatest accomplishment, however, was her devotion to her grandchildren over the past 11 years.   She was adored by all and will be greatly missed.  Calling hours at the Fred H. McGrath & Son, Funeral Home, Bronxville, NY, between the hours of 3 to 6 pm Sunday.  Mass of Christian Burial, St. Bridget’s of Ireland, Stamford.
