Sakacs, Kenneth M. January 19, 1951 - July 3, 2026

Kenneth M. Sakacs, 75 years old, passed away on July 3, 2026, following a brief but courageous battle with cancer.  Born on January 19, 1951, in Astoria, NY, he was the beloved child of Robert Sakacs and Marian Fagan, and younger brother of Robert. He developed life-long friendships in Astoria and would return regularly to see his boyhood friends. After graduating from Brooklyn Tech High School, Ken attended New York City Technical College. From there, he went to Citibank as a draftsman in their architectural department. After leaving Citibank, he found his true talent as a project manager for architectural woodworking companies where he designed and developed intricate commercial and residential assignments. Ken’s natural talent in building and design transferred over to his love of home renovation
and landscaping. Ken worked tirelessly renovating his 130 year old home in Crestwood, NY that he and Linda purchased in 1980. He was always available to help friends and neighbors with home repair issues big and small. Ken and Linda’s love of hiking and other outdoor activities led them to purchase a log cabin in the Catskills a few years ago. There, Ken honed his skill in fly fishing and found contentment in the perfect cast. Ken is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Linda, their 2 daughters, Caitlin (Jason) Lowry and Samantha (Daniel) Kennelly, and 7 grandchildren: Frankie, Joanie, Rockie, Aidan, McKensie, Jamie, and Scottie. He was a devoted husband, father and grandfather — a life well lived by all accounts.
