Leonard “Len” Saccardo of Yonkers, NY passed away on July 19, 2026. Beloved husband of Betty (nee Martin) Saccardo for 56 years, loving father of Pam (Phil) Puma, Sue Saccardo (Mark Tarleton) and Sandy Sexton (Lou Formoso), devoted grandfather of Jessica (Grayson), Angela, Alex (Shawn), Hallie, Emily and Ryan, great grandfather of Gennaro and Valentina. Dear brother of Ron (Leslie) and brother-in-law to Ed (Ginny) Martin and uncle to many nieces and nephews. He was born and raised in the Bronx, NY, and spent his married life in Westchester County. Len proudly served in the United States Air Force and graduated from Iona College. He later was the proud owner of Sportland Sporting Goods in Eastchester where he helped generations with their sporting necessities. After Sportland, his love of animals brought him to have a long career at the Hartsdale Pet Cemetery, all the while being a very active parishioner at St. Joseph’s Church, Bronxville as a weekly usher and member of the Men’s Club. In his spare time Len loved to be out on the golf course, rooting for the Mets or indulging in chocolate cream pie or chocolate ice cream.
Calling Hours at the Fred H. McGrath & Son Funeral Home, Bronxville on Monday, August 3 between the hours of 4 to 7pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Joseph’s Church, Bronxville on Tuesday, August 4, 2026 at 10:45am.
In Lieu of Flowers contributions may be made to either the Wounded Warriors Project or the SPCA Westchester, Inc (Briarcliff Manor)

July 29, 2026 at 8:43 amMy deepest condolences on your loss. Len and I played together at MapleMoor golf course every Thursday all summer for the past 15+ years. I was with him on the day he “shot his age” , a golfing achievement. For the past few we shared a cart together. I enjoyed his company tremendously. He was always upbeat and truly enjoyed the game. To say I will miss his company is a serious understatement. Len made the round better and more fun by just being there. It pains me that my wife and I will be away and not able to attend the funeral, but I can assure you he will be in my thoughts.

July 29, 2026 at 10:06 amI am so sorry to hear of the loss of Lenny. He was always so kind and compassionate when I visited my pets at Hartsdale Pet Cemetery. He was there during my darkest hours when my dog died right before my wedding. He never forgot that. every time I saw Lenny, he always talked about Tyson. We talked about Rosie’s in Bronxville, Iona College and all of his hobbies and fondness for animals. I will truly miss Lenny. He has been a friend and constant staple for me at Hartsdale for the last 24 years. Heaven gained an Angel for sure.

July 29, 2026 at 1:15 pmMy phone name says “Lenny Golf”! I was part of Lenny’s Maple Moore’s fore-some, and knew Lenny for the past 20 yrs or so. He was an institution there and part of our own homemade men’s club.
Lenny was kind and always up beat.
I’m sure Larry deserved almost being run over by Lenny that day when Lenny slipped off the brake!
He’ll be missed and thought of fondly. So sorry…

July 29, 2026 at 1:29 pmOur deepest condolences to the Saccardo Family. I have know Lenny for many years going back to when he worked for Humble Oil and Refining Company in Pelham, NY. After Len married my best friends sister Betty I even got to know him more. Len always had a nice smile on his face and some nice words to share with you. I would see Len at the cemetery when I visited his brother in law Ed . He was always working hard. We are glad his suffering is over now and he has a peaceful home in Heaven. May he rest in Peace and may all the faithfully departed through the mercy of God rest in Peace.

July 30, 2026 at 2:26 pmI’ve met Len back in 2013 playing golf with him at Maple Moor. We played golf twice a week for many years and every round I learned something new from him about golf. His frozen plastic water bottle for hot days on the golf course and wearing no socks with his penny loafer shoes after a round of golf was classic Len. I missed playing golf with him today and will think of him each time I play Maple Moor in the future..
