Eileen Charles Owen, age 80 passed away peacefully on Wednesday, February 22, 2017 at home following a lengthy illness. Born January 12, 1937, in Brooklyn, New York to the late Richard and Kathryn Charles, Eileen lived in Garden City, Cooperstown and Albany New York before settling in Bronxville, New York. She worked as a medical secretary for many years. Survivors include her beloved children: Mary Kay Owen, Downingtown, PA; John Owen (Patty), Dallas, TX; Christopher Owen, Bronxville, NY; Brendan Owen, Fort Worth, TX; Timothy Owen (Katherine), Charlotte, NC and Michael Owen, Bronx, NY. Devoted grandmother of Megan, Timothy and Sean. Cherished siblings include her sisters: Betty Ann (Jack) Savage, Judy Charles, Mary Jane Charles and a brother Patrick Charles (Bettyanne). Eileen was preceded in death by her husband, John Hewitt. Also survived by several nieces and nephews. Relatives and friends are invited to meet the family 5 to 8 pm Friday, at the Fred H. McGrath & Son, Funeral Home, Bronxville. Mass of Christian Burial at the St. Joseph’s Church in Bronxville, NY on Saturday, February 25 at 10:45 am. Burial will be held in private.
