Arthur E. Freddolino died unexpectantly on Monday, February 20, 2017 at his home in Fallbrook, CA. He was born in the Bronx, NY to Salvatore Freddolino and Lillian (Lanza) Freddolino on January 18, 1931. Arthur moved to Yonkers, NY at age nine and spent the next seventy years there raising his family, running his business, Freddolino Construction, and giving back to his community. Arthur and his best friend and loyal coworker, Ed Sena, built 60 single family homes. 58 were located in the Crestwood area of Yonkers, including the family home on Crestwood Avenue, and 2 were built in Scarsdale. Arthur was also the City Counselor for Ward 5 in Yonkers for ten years, acting as vice mayor for 2 of those years. His campaigns were a family event with his five children going door to door throughout the ward delivering literature about the candidate. Arthur also was the supervisor of the Yonkers Parks and Recreation department for many years. Giving back to his city, Arthur co-founded The Hillcrest Lakers Boys Club around 1960. He also coached his son, Tony, and his teammates through many years of baseball. He was a loyal fan of the NY Giants and stayed loyal even when they moved to CA and became the SF Giants. Originally the club focused on boy’s baseball but has grown to include boys and girls in many sports. He was also a member of the East Yonkers Kiwanis Club, Knights of Pythias, Knights of Columbus, Yonkers VFW and was honorary discharged from the Navy in 1954. In retirement, Arthur became an avid traveler, has been on five continents including the northern most point in the US at Point Barrow, Alaska and the southernmost tip of Australia, Port Arthur. He was on over twenty cruises and as many windjammer cruises. While on the windjammer, The Polynesian, he met his current wife, Diann. Arthur is survived by his wife of 17 years, Diann (Jackson) of Fallbrook, CA. Beloved father of Anthony (Tony) Freddolino of Pahoa, HI., Linda Powers and husband Bill of Longmont, CO., Joan Yankun and husband Richard of Surprise, AZ., Gail London and husband Jered of Cape Coral, FLA. His sister, Stella Guzy and husband Richard of Georgetown, TX and a brother Ralph Freddolino of NY. Arthur was predeceased in death by the love of his life, and mother of his five children, Ann Maher Freddolino and his daughter, Lorraine Freddolino. Calling hours at the Fred H. McGrath & Son, Funeral Home, Bronxville, NY, between the hours of 2 to 5 pm Sunday. Mass of Christian Burial, Annunciation Church, Crestwood, on Monday February 27 at 10 am.
