Thomas R. O’Donoghue (1945 – 2016)
Thomas R. O’Donoghue, a lifelong resident of Yonkers, New York passed away peacefully, surrounded by family on Friday, February 26, 2016. He was 70. Thomas went to School 8 and then graduated from Roosevelt High School. He always lived in the neighborhood except for when he went off to Miami Dade college and then later to University of Florida. He played baseball and sports through high school and college while also working in home improvement. He started his first company with a truck and a week’s pay, which has evolved into a respected building restoration business now run by his family. Tom was a competitor on the field and off, as a player, as Coach Tom to dozens of young boys and girls for decades, and most recently, a cancer warrior of many years. Thomas is predeceased by his mother, Charlotte O’Donoghue, from the Kingsbridge section of the Bronx. Tom is survived by his loving family, Barbara, his wife of 34 years, daughter, Dylan, son, Timothy and daughter-in-law, Blake Eger. Calling hours will be held at the Fred H. McGrath & Son, Funeral Home in Bronxville on Friday, March 4th, from 4-7 pm. A graveside service will be held at Gate of Heaven Cemetery on Saturday, March 5th at 10 am.
