John A. McGlone- a lifelong Yonkers resident passed on March 5, 2015 at the age of 92. He was born July 1, 1922 to the late John & Mary (May) McGlone. Born & raised on 60th Street in Manhattan, John enlisted into the Army & served as a Private 1st Class Machine Gunner in WWII “Battle of the Bulge.” He served in the 120th Infantry Regiment, 30th Infantry Division & was awarded the Bronze Star for meritorious service from January 23, 1945- May 8, 1945. During his time in service, he met & married his wife, the late Rose Mcglone. Together, they had two daughters, Barbara & Elissa, who both have passed in 2002 & 2008. John then remarried to Camille Amandolare who predeceased him in 2010. John was a loving father, Grandfather, Great-Grandfather, Brother & Uncle. Throughout his life, he devoted himself to the Catholic Church & always held strong to his faith. He is survived by his Brother & Sister: Patrick & Evelyn. Granddaughters: Jennifer, Mary & Emily. Son-in-law: Dominick DeSalvo. Great-Granddaughters: Isabella & Julia Rose. Nieces: Eileen, Valerie & Andrea. Nephews: Jason & Patrick Jr.
