December 6, 2023 at 10:18 pmMs. Laredo was my Chemistry teacher at St. Barnabas, and knew how to get HS girls at least somewhat enthusiastic about science. She was more than a teacher to me, though-she was a mentor during my junior and senior years, and I will always remember her kindness to me. I didn’t realize back then how incredibly smart she was, or how much of a groundbreaker she was (women weren’t highly represented in science when she started teaching). My condolences to her family, and may she rest in eternal peace.

December 8, 2023 at 9:26 pmJoan was a true Renaissance woman and feminist. How fortunate we were to be taught and guided by this brilliant compassionate scholar. Joan supported and encouraged her students to become independent women through education. She had great pleasure in seeing us thrive. Joan was my mentor and she was instrumental in the woman I am. With love and gratitude thank you Ms. Laredo-Lidell. We are all that much better for having had you in our lives.
God Bless You we have another angel watching over us.
Rest in Peace

December 12, 2023 at 12:24 pmMs. Laredo was my biology teacher at St. Barnabas High School. She was always very professional and knowledgeable. She instilled in us a thirst for knowledge of the sciences. I always enjoyed her lectures and learned a lot about animal anatomy in her dissection labs. I last talked with her at a 2018 alumnae luncheon at St. Barnabas. My sincere condolences to her family and friends. Rest in peace, Ms. Laredo.
