Koegl, Frank October 2, 1946 - April 18, 2025

Col Frank J.  Koegl (Ret.) 78, of Yonkers NY died on April 18 at the James J. Peters Veteran’s hospital Bronx NY.  Born in Dallas TX he graduated from Jesuit High School, Dallas, and St Mary’s University San Antonio TX with a bachelor’s degree in marketing and master’s degree in economics.  He retired after 30 years in the U. S. Army active-duty reserves and was awarded a Purple Heart for his service in Vietnam.   His military assignments included the 321st Civil Affairs Group & 90th ARCOM Ft Sam Houston TX, Armed Services Reserve Center Broken Arrow OK, 353rd Civil Affairs Command Ft Bragg NC & Bronx NY, and 77th Regional Support Command Ft Totten NY.  In his civilian career he was a corporate credit analyst for Allied Corp, and Director of Plans, Training, Mobilization & Security at Ft Hamilton NY.
Frank was active in the Assoc of US Army (AUSA) Statue of Liberty chapter, the US Army Civil Affairs Assoc, and the US Army Reserve Officers Assoc.
A funeral mass will be held at St Joseph’s Catholic Church Bronxville NY on May 10 at 9:45 am. Interment will follow on June 13 at 1:30 pm at Washington Crossing National Cemetery Newtown PA.  Funeral arrangements are being handled by Fred H. McGrath & Sons Inc. Bronxville, NY
Frank was predeceased by his parents, Frank A. & Julia Koegl.  He is survived by his loving life partner Ellen Cooley, Howell NJ, son Jason, Yonkers NY, sister Marie Kunkel, Richmond TX, and nephew and nieces Patrick, Laura and Donna, their spouses & children.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made in his memory to the Aplastic Anemia & MDS International Foundation at aamds.org. Donation acknowledgement should be sent to ellen.cooley@yahoo.com

Mass: 9:45 am, Saturday, May 10, 2025 at St. Joseph's Church, Bronxville

Interment: 1:30 pm, Friday, June 13, 2025 at Washington Crossing National Cemetery
