ROSEMARY G. KLEMANN, 102
Rosemary G. Klemann of New Rochelle, New York passed away on February 14, 2020 of natural causes at the age of 102. She was born in Waterbury, Connecticut and was the daughter of the late Joseph and Rosaleen Gerard. She was a graduate of the College of New Rochelle and received Master of Arts degrees from Columbia University and Pratt Institute. Rosemary was married for 57 years to her beloved husband Robert, who predeceased her in 2002. She was a teacher early in her career, and then raised a family before serving as the librarian at the Rye Neck High School for many years. She was known for her love of education and travel, her passion for reading and her commitment to Holy Family Parish in New Rochelle and the College of New Rochelle, which awarded her the Angela Merici Medal in 1994. She was a member of the Women’s Club and the Garden Club of New Rochelle.
Rosemary is survived by two sons and their spouses, Robert and Barbara Klemann of Somers NY and Gilbert and Patricia Klemann of Greenwich CT. She has two grandchildren, Tricia Kapp of Greenwich, CT and Gilbert H. Klemann of Greenwich, CT. She also has six great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by a son, Richard, and two sisters, Lorraine Glynn and Evelyn Gerard. Friends may call for Rosemary from 9 to 10 am on Wednesday, February 19, 2020 at the Fred H. McGrath & Son Funeral Home at 20 Cedar Street, Bronxville, New York. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 am on Wednesday, February 19, 2020 at the Church of the Holy Family, 83 Clove Road, New Rochelle, New York.
