Juan, R. Lois (Murphy)
Lois Juan of Bronxville, NY passed away at home surrounded by family on Thursday, October 20, 2022. She was born to Mary (Mae) Delores and Edward Jerome (Jerry) Murphy in Brooklyn, NY on April 3, 1937, and raised in Crestwood, NY. She graduated from the Annunciation School, Good Counsel Academy, and College of Mt. St. Vincent. She taught elementary and middle school students for many years in Ottawa, Canada; Scarsdale and Rye, NY; and during the final 15 years of her professional career at Our Lady of Perpetual Help in Pelham Manor, NY. Lois was married for 46 years to her loving husband, Dr. Paul L. Juan, who predeceased her in 2006. Lois was also predeceased by her sister Mary Veronica (Ronnie) Denneen, brother Jerome Stewart (Stew) Murphy, and granddaughter Jordyn Juan. She is survived by her eight children who loved her dearly and will miss her deeply – Patriciamae (Thomas) Kikta of Pittsburgh, PA; Mary Elizabeth (William) McGrath of Lewes, DE; Paul E. (Amanda) Juan of Cos Cob, CT; James S. (Tracy) Juan of Cherry Hill, NJ; William L. (Mary) Juan of Big Flats, NY; Kathleen S. (Keith) Yatsuhashi of Norfolk, MA; Theresann (William) Potter of Northborough, MA; and Christopher M. (Christina) Juan of Berlin, MA.
Lois was blessed with twenty-seven grandchildren and five great grandchildren of whom she was tremendously proud and who brought her great joy and endless entertainment. Her surviving grandchildren and great grandchildren are: Matthew T. (Brittany) Kikta and their daughter, Halle, Benjamin P. (Kelsey) Kikta, Timothy J. (Caroline) Kikta and their daughter, Evie, and Emily Mae Kikta and husband, Peter Walker; Meaghan E. (Michael) Robinson and their children, James and Lillian, Anne Marie McGrath and her husband, Can Tekin, Kevin W. (Meghan) McGrath and their son, Clark, and John P. (Jack) McGrath; Corey A., Alexander, and Avery Juan; Lynn M., Michael J., and Christopher P. Juan; Nicholas J., Owen P., William H. (Henry), and Joseph D. Juan; Caitlin M., Jeffrey M., and Justin K. Yatsuhashi; Tyler E., Quinn W., and Morgan E. Potter; and Paisley A. and Whitaker J. Juan.
Lois will be remembered for her love and devotion to family and the many students she taught during her years of service in the classroom. She cherished the time she spent at Cape Cod with her family and holidays at her home with her children and grandchildren. She greatly enjoyed her time supporting her kids in their varied pursuits. Services will be held at St. Joseph’s Church in Bronxville. In lieu of flowers, please send any memorial contributions to Elizabeth Seton Pediatric Center in Yonkers, New York.

We have fond memories of family gatherings around the kitchen table, holidays in NY, and of course visiting you at the beach in Cape Cod. The kids will never write a thank you note without a date and have you to thank for forcing them to read script. Not sure they ever changed your mind fully on Brady, but they did sway you a little. Glad that you and dad can rest in peace together. Love you always!

I saw her just a few weeks ago and she was as bright and vibrant and full of life as ever. Deeply saddened the world has lost such a kind lady and I am so very sorry for your loss!
