On October 20, 2022, Olga Duffy, a beloved mother, grandmother and great grandmother, passed away.  She was 96 years old. She was born on June 21,1926 to Pearl and Andrew Matlaga. She grew up in Linden, New Jersey and graduated from Linden High School. In 1947 she married John Duffy, and they settled in Linden and raised their family there. During this time Olga worked as a secretary at Airtron/Litton Industries, and then as a billing manager, first at Park Plastics Co. and later at Linden Airport. In 1983, Olga and John retired to Sarasota, Florida, where John passed away in 1994. In 2014, after suffering a heart attack, Olga moved to New York to be nearer to her children.

Olga was known for her obvious intelligence, common sense, and above all, kindness and decency. She was loved and respected by all who knew her. She is survived by her children, John (Maxine), Gregory (Toni) and Christine (David), six grandchildren and two great grandchildren.  The family will be holding a private gravesite commitment service. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations to be made in Olgas memory to The Wartburg Home, Mount Vernon, New York.

The family will be holding a private gravesite commitment service.

Greg John and Christine please accept my sincere condolences on the passing of your mom. She was always extraordinarily nice to me and whenever I was staying at your house she was always there to cook a great meal always with a sense of good humor and spirit. May she rest in peace.
