Ambros Geissler, 93, of Yonkers, NY passed peacefully on October 26, 2023. Beloved husband of Sheila. Loving father of Monique (William) Keane, Christine (Christopher) Peters and Kara (Michael) Fitzgerald. Cherished grandfather of Hogan, Calvin, Alexis, Simon, Fiona, Rory, Braeden, Devon and Bridie. Ambros is survived by his brother, Alfons, and numerous nieces and nephews both here and in Germany. He was predeceased by his four sisters, Cacilia, Erna, Priska and Monika.
Ambros was born October 15, 1930 in Assamstadt, Germany to the late Alois and Amalia, the fourth of six children. He received his Masters of Science in Electrical Engineering from the University of Karlsruhe and enjoyed a career as a computer engineer systems designer. He came to the United States in 1957 first to Connecticut then settling in New York.
Ambros was an avid gardener and tennis player and loved swimming out beyond the waves. He was always there to lend an expert hand with his tool bag at his side. His happiest times, though, were spent with his family and friends and especially his grandchildren. He will be greatly missed.
Calling hours at the Fred H. McGrath & Son Funeral Home, Bronxville, on Sunday, October 29, 2023 from 3-6 pm. Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Monday, October 30, 2023 at 10 am at Annunciation Church, Crestwood.
