William H. Fazekas Jr. died on November 26, 2025 in White Plains Hospital.
The son of William and Dorothea (Miller) Fazekas, Billy was born in the Bronx, attended Holy Family Elementary School and graduated from James Monroe High School.
In 1995, Billy and wife of 54 years, Jeanette (Tricamo), moved to Crestwood, New York.
Billy began his work career at Evans Manufacturing before moving to Prolerized Schiabo–Neu Corporation/Sims Metal Management, where for over 40 years he was the Power Plant Manager and later Mega Shredder Operator. He was a member of the Operating Engineers Local 15C and a certified NYS CraneOperator. In 2012 he joined the staff of the Scarsdale Union Free School District as a bus operator, enjoying his young passengers and making many new friends.
Billy loved his wife, his family and friends, trucks, cars, logo caps, his vegetable garden, baking bread, his snow blower (which he used to plow most of the street on which he lived), sitting on his front porch, and his annual trip to Hartland, Maine in November.
He was gifted with the ability to repair, rebuild, or renovate almost anything, a gift he readily shared.
Billy leaves behind his wife Jeanette, sister–in–law Julia Bernstein and brothers–in–law Martin Bernstein and John Tricamo, many cousins, lifelong friends James Meiners, Pam & Eddie Dingee, Richard Clifford, and numerous friends from New York to Maine.
In lieu of flowers please made a donation to your favorite charity in memory of Billy.

November 30, 2025 at 11:09 amMy sincere condolences to Billy’s family and friends. Billy was a great guy and great neighbor, and yes, he really did plow most of the street on which we live.- always. I once gave him an old lawn mower that I couldn’t get started, five minutes later he reappeared with a smile on his face and the lawn mower humming away. I will greatly miss that smile and the man behind it, may he rest in peace

November 29, 2025 at 3:36 pmWe were deeply saddened to learn of Bill’s passing. Please accept our deepest condolences and prayers that you find solace in his memory. Bill was an important part of our extended family and we will always remember him fondly. Regrettably, we will be unable to attend the public memorial but will join remotely for his funeral mass. Speaking as the son of another “Miller sister” we will look forward to sharing happy family memories –and photos– of Bill, with you in person, at some future date. But please know that today we are with you in spirit and sending our love in this time of grief and reflection.

November 30, 2025 at 9:27 amI met Billy in my mid teens, the friend of my older brother. He and Jeanette were couple up the street who opened up their home to us. Billy was the cool older cousin, the young uncle, a mentor and friend. I remember his workshop at 2066, his knowledge of tools and machinery, the Chevy Blazer that once or twice attained zero gravity on Lafayette Ave., the clay ball fights, the ice cold burn of the red hot poker in the Fazekas’ fireplace, driving massive bulldozers at PSN, his occasional ‘pearls of wisdom’ and his laughter. You knew when Billy was enjoying himself and he seemed to do it often. I remember him years later, sitting in my garage after helping my wife and I move into our home. You know who your friends are…
He and Jeanette have been very kind and generous to my family. Billy was a steadfast, lifelong friend. More importantly, he was a good man. The world needs more of his like. Rest in peace, Billy.
Our condolences to Jeanette and the entire family.

November 30, 2025 at 6:43 pmI am sorry to hear of Billy’s passing. What a wonderful man. Our family lived at 69 Manhattan Avenue from 1957 until my father’s death in 2007. I used to chat with Billy all the time. Bob Booth, a childhood friend, sent me an email alerting me of Billy’s death. I didn’t recognize the name, but when I saw his face with his trademark cap I knew exactly who it was. I haven’t seen him in a number of years, but yet I am deeply saddened. He was such a kind man. And a one of a kind person. My deepest condolences to all of you, family and friends alike.

December 1, 2025 at 8:19 amBilly was a straight shooter, tell it as it is. A breath of fresh air in today’s environment. He got me one of my first jobs (at PSN) and he along with Jeannette have been very good to me and my family. It was a privilege to know him. He will not be forgotten. Condolences to all his family and friends.

December 1, 2025 at 8:04 pmBilly’s long and unwavering friendship with my brother and his unfailing willingness to be there for my family has already been noted by my siblings. In my mind, he and Jeanette are extended family and I’m sorry I couldn’t be there to see him laid to rest. He will be missed.
The tool shed in the back on Blackrock, venison in Autumn, plowing when it snowed, barbecue in the Yonkers backyard—so many memories come to mind, again as already stated by others. My condolences to Jeanette and the family.
