Daleo, Catherine E. September 22, 1949 - September 28, 2023

Catherine Elizabeth Daleo nee McGrady passed away suddenly at her residence in Bronxville, NY September 28, 2023. Cathy was born in Yonkers, NY on September 22, 1949 to Anna McGrady and James McGrady. Cathy attended grammar and high school in Yonkers. She attended Grasslands Nursing school in Valhalla earning not just her RN, but making truly wonderful and lifelong friends. She married the love of her life Paul Daleo in 1971 and had one son, Christopher the following year.

Cathy worked as a Registered Nurse starting out at Dobbs Ferry Hospital, then switching to Montefiore Hospital where she stayed until she received her Bachelor’s degree from Mercy College and became a public health nurse for Westchester County. Eventually becoming Head Nurse Epidemiologist and Liaison with the CDC, retiring from that post in 2008.

Cathy was an avowed movie and theatre buff and had an uncanny knack for all things trivia related. She was a lover of music, art and reading. She was filled with Celtic Pride as her father was born in Belfast during “the Troubles”. She enjoyed spending time with family and friends. She was the keeper of family facts and relished her role as Grandma to Nicholas. She will be sorely missed by all who knew and enjoyed her company.

She was predeceased by her husband, Paul, her mother and father Anna & James and her older brother Jimmy. She is survived by her son Christopher and his wife, Debra and her grandson Nicholas. She is survived by her loving sister Anne-Marie McGrady, her dearest friend and sister and brother in law, Linda & Robert Daleo, as well as a host of countless family members and close friends with whom she has touched through the years. LYTTMAB.
