James Cucinell passed away at the age of 86 at the Osborn Pavilion with his attentive family after a lengthy illness. He was born to Samuel and Mary (May) Cucinell of Yonkers. After serving in the Korean War, he returned as a principal in Cucinell Electric Company, Which his father had founded in 1924. He is the beloved husband of Dorothy (Dolly) nee Shalvoy. He is also survived by his loving Children, Pamela Cucinell Pardillo (Mario), James Cucinell Jr. and Susan Sullivan (Kevin) and cherished grandchildren, Ian and Maggie Sullivan and Sofia Pardillo. James is the dear brother of Dr. Samuel Cucinell (Elynore), Joan O’Reilly (Vincent), Jean Kent (Frank) and the late Anthony Cucinell (Peggy). He was predeceased by his nephew, Samuel Cucinell (Mary Alice). He is also survived by many nieces and nephews. A Past President of the Yonkers Rotary Club and chairman of its Gardens for Youth Program, he was awarded that organizations distinguished Paul Harris Fellowship Award. He was President and Governor of the Westchester-Fairfield chapter of the National Electrical Contractors’ Association NECA. He was also President of the Homefield Association in Yonkers, member of the Board of Directors of Leewood Golf Club and President of the Yonkers Rehabilitation Center. He as a lector and communicant of St. Joseph’s Church in Bronxville and also at St. John the Evangelist in Naples, FL. Calling hours at the Fred H. McGrath & Son, Funeral Home, Bronxville, between the hours of 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm Thursday. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Our Lady Queen of Peace Chapel at Gate of Heaven Cemetery on Friday October 3 at 12 Noon. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Alzheimer’s Association or Lewy Body Dementia Association.
