Andrew M. Burger of Yonkers, NY and Boynton Beach, FL was born June, 1934 in Elmhurst, NY. He passed peacefully January 17, 2024. He was the only child of Andrew J. Burger and Martha Munzer. He attended Xavier High School and Manhattan College, and he proudly served in the National Guard. Professionally, Andrew was the third generation to lead his family business, Atlantic Iron Works, Inc. of Astoria, NY, and he was a Director on the Board of Astoria Financial Corporation for over 30 years. He was head of the Usher’s Society of Annunciation Church for over 50 years. Devoted to each other and their family, Andrew was married to his beloved wife, Bridget for 59 years. Bridget sadly predeceased him in 2018. He is survived by his children Patricia Burger (Peter Vogel), Andrew J. Burger (Marie Havranek), Elizabeth (Richard) Mahony and Michael J. (Jodi) Burger. Treasured grandchildren Anna, Bridget and Julia Mahony, Jack and Andy Vogel, Simone and Devin Burger. Calling hours at The Fred H. McGrath & Son Funeral Home, Bronxville, between the hours of 2pm and 5pm Sunday, January 21. Mass of Christian burial Annunciation Church, 470 Westchester Avenue, Crestwood, NY Monday, January 22, 2024 at 10am. Interment private at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Mt. Pleasant, NY. In lieu of flowers, kindly donate in Andrew’s name to the American Cancer Society.
