Maureen Bane (Née Neary), Creggs co Roscommon, Ireland
Maureen Bane, resident of Yonkers, NY, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on October 29, 2023. Maureen was born in Ireland, the daughter of the late Hugh and Julia Neary. She was predeceased by her brothers, John and Frank.
Maureen is survived by her husband, Matthew Bane of county Galway, Ireland, her devoted four children: Brendan and his wife Judi of Pearl River, NY, Sheila Quinn and her husband Patrick of Rye, NY, Carolyn McPherson and her husband Shawn of Yorktown Heights, NY, Michele Walther and her husband Michael of Portchester, NY. As well as eleven grandchildren: Haley, Cara, Jenna, Julia, Tara, Patrick, Brendan, Brigid, Brenna, Brendan, and Jack.
She is also survived by her sister Sheila and her husband John McBride, Bernadette and her late husband Joseph Keegan, and Patsy and her late husband Brendan Sugrue. As well as many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
Maureen cherished participating in her grandchildren’s events, tending to her garden, immersing herself in literature, and discussing politics. Her enduring legacy will be marked by her resilience, positivity, optimistic outlook on life and her compassionate nature when it came to others.
May she rest in eternal peace.
