MARIE CELINE BAKER, 90
Marie Celine (O’NEILL) Baker, 90, of Tuckahoe, NY, passed away on February 12, 2017 at Lawrence Hospital in Bronxville, NY following a brief illness. She was the beloved wife of the late James Quinton Baker. Marie was born in Chapelizod, Dublin, Ireland on March 27, 1926, daughter of Andrew and Annie (Bracken) O’Neill. She immigrated to the United States in 1958. Marie was a long-time employee at Burke Rehabilitation Hospital, where she devoted her time to helping patients. Marie will always be remembered for her passion for traveling, her involvement in various activities including her quilting group, her tomatoes she grew to share with family and friends, and the fierce love she had for all of her family. Marie was pre-deceased by her husband, James Quinton Baker; her two brothers, Andrew and Brendan O’Neill; and her sister, Veronica Griffin. Marie is survived by her sister Angelica Jennings of Dublin, Ireland; her sister-in-laws Phyllis Baker and Nancy O’Neill of Dublin, Ireland; her son Nicholas Baker and his wife Maureen and their children: Courtney Williams (Ryan) and Colin Baker and great-grandson Finn Williams of Haddonfield, NJ; her son Stuart Baker and his wife Jean and their children: Sean and Katherine Baker of Plymouth, MA; her son Paul Baker and his wife Deborah and their children: Dawn and Christopher and great-grandson Michael of Yonkers, NY; her son Quinton and his wife Margaret and their sons: James and Brian Baker of Tuckahoe, NY. Marie was adored by 34 nieces and nephews who, like all that knew her, were awed by her vitality and spirit. Visiting Hours will be held at Fred H. McGrath & Son Funeral Home (Bronxville, NY) on Friday, February 17, 2017, between the hours of 4:00 to 8:00 pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at the Immaculate Conception Church (Tuckahoe, NY) on Saturday, February 18, 2017, at 10:30 am.
