After a short time in England, she arrived in New York at the age of 21. She got married in 1965 and raised her family in Katonah, NY. After her husband’s death in 1975, Mary went back to school and got her nursing license. She worked at various nursing homes including Maryknoll Sisters in Ossining. After her retirement, she volunteered at Phelps Hospital in Sleepy Hollow.
Surviving are her daughters Joan, Eileen and Ann, son Michael (Maysin) and grandson Ryan. Sisters Bridie and Eileen (John), brothers Paddy and Martin and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, Anthony, parents Michael and Ellen and sister in law, Catherine.
She will be dearly missed. She was a wonderful mother who was always there when we needed her the most.

Deepest sympathy to Dad & Martin’s sisters Bridie & Eileen and John & Kevin Brady. I have great memories of Mary visiting Meath and myself visiting & meeting up with Aunty Mary on my trips to New York. Dad has been reminiscing over the past few days about Mary when she was younger, leaving Castlebar and travelling to England and then NY. Thinking of you all very much and wishing you strength. Love to you all & sorry we can’t be there with you. Rest in peace Aunty Mary! Paddy & Martin McHale and Ciara & Mary 🤍

February 24, 2025 at 1:13 amDeepest sympathy and may God provide His comfort to Mary’s children–Joan, Eileen, Anne and Michael and to her sisters Bridie and Eileen. As a neighbor and friend of your Mom on Garth Road, your Mom had the most beautiful merry eyes and a sweet smile for everyone on Garth Road. She loved the family gatherings at Rory Dolans, the Heritage, and going down to Woodlawn. She also loved having a good time with her sister, Bridget at the Aisling Irish Community Center and the bus rides and early morning swims at Lake Isle. Remember the laughter and the good times because that is what Mary would want for all who knew her.

February 24, 2025 at 4:29 amCondolences and Deepest Sympathies to Michael, Joan, Eileen, Anne Marie, Aunty Bridie, Aunty Eileen and all the extended family and friends in the US on the sad passing of Aunty Mary. It was great to see Aunty Mary a few years ago when she came to Dunshaughlin with Joan and Anne Marie and got to meet and talk with Dad again. Have a lot of great memories of childhood with Dads sisters and families would come over from the US and we spent the weeks before painting and cleaning getting ready. I’m sure you all will miss her dearly and have many fond memories and so much to be grateful. Ar Dheis Dé Go Raibh Hanam
