Yolanda (Sgobbo) Scrofani
July 14, 1934 – September 13, 2024 (age 90)
Yolanda (Sgobbo) Scrofani, 90, of Bronxville, wife of late Romulus (Romo) Scrofani, passed away peacefully on Friday September 13, 2024, at Lawrence Hospital, Bronxville, NY. Yolanda was born in Mount Vernon, NY, daughter of the late Salvatore and Cristina Sgobbo. For over 20 years, she was a secretary at The Children’s Village in Dobbs Ferry, NY.
Yolanda found great joy in playing cards with her family and friends, cooking and baking. Her eggplant parmigiana, easter pie and struffoli were legendary! She was also a loyal NY Yankee fan and enjoyed watching and listening to the games. Yolanda is survived by three sons, John, Joseph (Josephine) and Robert (Maritza), a brother Salvatore (Rachel) Sgobbo, a sister Antoinette (Rosario) DeVico, three grandchildren, Paige (Zach), John and Joseph, a step-granddaughter Chasity (Leo), a goddaughter Christina and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, Yolanda was predeceased by her brothers Frank and Charlie.
The family will receive friends at the Fred H McGrath & Son Funeral Home, Bronxville, between the hours of, 4 to 8 pm Friday, Sept. 20, 2024. Mass of Christian Burial, St. Joseph’s Church, Bronxville, on Saturday, Sept. 21 at 9:45 AM. Interment ot follow at The Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Hawthorn, NY. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to The New York Yankees and Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center. New York Yankees Universe Fund | MSK Giving (mskcc.org)
