Schwartz, Raymond F. October 4, 1927 - March 3, 2019

Raymond F. Schwartz, a retired architect and longtime resident of the town of Eastchester, N.Y., died on March 3, 2019. He was 91 years old. Mr. Schwartz was born October 4, 1927 in Buffalo, N.Y. to Vincent H. and Eva L. (Pfalzer) Schwartz. After graduating from East Aurora High School in 1946, he served in the U.S. Army stationed in Tokyo, Japan. He then entered Pratt Institute in Brooklyn, N.Y. and graduated in 1954 with a bachelor’s degree in architecture. In 1957, he married Jean Marie Noel at Our Mother of Sorrow Church in Westmont, PA. For a few years, he and his growing family resided in Brooklyn, N.Y., and then they moved to Eastchester, N.Y. They were parishioners of Immaculate Heart of Mary Church in Scarsdale, N.Y. Mr. Schwartz worked in New York City for various architectural firms, the last being the New York State Urban Development Corporation, where he was a senior architect for 20 years. He was a registered architect in both New York and New Jersey and was a member of the Westchester Chapter of the American Institute of Architects. He retired in 1991, bought a cabin in East Branch, N.Y. and spent much of his time in his later years there in the Catskills. He was a member of the American Legion Post 0167 in Downsville, N.Y. Mr. Schwartz is survived by his daughter Elizabeth Schwartz of Monsey, N.Y., his daughter Angela Schwartz and son Stephen Schwartz of Scarsdale, N.Y., his grandchildren Sophia and Benjamin, his sisters Eleanor (late Warren) Colpo and Carol (late Joseph) McKernan, his brother Gerald (Jacqueline) Schwartz and many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his sisters Julia Hicks and Virginia (Kenneth) Martin and brother Arthur (Eileen) Schwartz. Calling Hours at the Fred H.
