Anne-Marie Pinto
Anne-Marie (Murphy) Pinto of Tuckahoe, NY, passed away on July 3, 2019 surrounded by family and friends after a short but courageous battle with cancer. Born on May 7, 1966, in NYC, Anne-Marie was mother to Michael Pinto, her beloved son. Daughter of Frank and Sheila Murphy (deceased) of Crestwood, NY. She is survived by her brothers, Peter Murphy and partner, Sue Mirza; Michael Murphy and wife, Paola; her sisters, Eileen and husband, Michael McCabe; Maureen and husband, Tom Taxter; and her former husband, Christopher Pinto. Cherished aunt to many nieces and nephews.
Anne-Marie was an accomplished beauty industry executive having served over 18 years with Lancome-USA as a Beauty and Training Executive and prior to that, Estee Lauder. She was a passionate, creative leader who brought tremendous energy and drive to her roles, guiding her business to new heights each year, earning the loyalty and friendship of her associates, and mentoring many along the way to help them achieve their goals.
Despite her hectic schedule, Anne-Marie considered mother to be her most important role. Michael was her passion and he gave her the most joy. She was never happier than when they were enjoying a quiet movie night together (along with beloved dog, Sparky), attending one of Michael’s concerts or being in the company of his Tuckahoe and Iona Prep community of friends. They shared a special bond that will never be broken.
Those who knew Anne-Marie will forever remember her effervescent personality – lighting up the room with her smile and positive energy. Her wide circle of beloved friends and neighbors cherished her openness and spontaneous happy spirit. Her family was of utmost importance to her – she was deeply loved by them and she, in turn, was always there with love and support. From a young child, Anne-Marie had a strong, unwavering faith and we have no doubt that this gave her the strength and courage that she displayed throughout her life.
God bless you, Anne-Marie. You’ll be forever in our hearts. Love you more!

July 6, 2019 at 7:49 pmTo the Murphy Family: I was in total shock when my mom called to share this terribly sad news. I am so sorry for you all and for the world that lost such a wonderful person and bright spirit. I will never forget Anne Marie at Nanny’s house. I remember looking up to her as a young child and wanting to be like her! I am traveling this week and am so sorry I cannot express my condolences in person. I have a beautiful picture with Anne Marie and Maureen from my wedding in 2007, which is how I’ll always remember her. Sending you all love and prayers.
