Overlander, Sally Anne September 18, 1935 - September 29, 2026

With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of our beloved Sally Anne, Weisse, Overlander, age 91, who passed away peacefully on September 29, 2026,         surrounded by her children and spouses.

Sally Anne was born on September 18,1935, in Woodlawn New York, to Francis and Sarah Weisse. She graduated from Tuckahoe High School and The Katharine Gibbs School. She worked as an executive assistant at General Electric before marrying John “Craig” Overlander on May 16, 1959, at The Church of the Resurrection in Rye, New York. Together, they raised their three children in Eastchester New York. Sally Anne later moved to Bronxville where she resided until recently relocating to Georgia. She and Craig shared 42 years of marriage before his passing in April 2001. She later returned to the workforce with Burson Marsteller a global public relations firm.

She is also survived by her niece, Susan Posner (Glen) and her daughters Jane and Caroline.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Sarah Weisse; her beloved husband John ‘Craig ‘Overlander; her sister Jane Dayton and her brother-in-law Logan Dayton.

To her children and great grandchildren, she was simply lovingly known as Mimi.

Mimi was truly one of a kind. She loved with her whole heart and had a rare gift for making everyone she met feel like an old friend. She never had an unkind word to say and always seemed to find the good in people.  Whether you had known her for a lifetime or had only just met her, she always had a way of making you feel seen.

A woman of deep faith, she found great comfort in prayer and could often be heard calling on St. Anthony for a little help. She lived her life with kindness, grace, and an unwavering devotion to the people she loved. Her family was at the center of her world, and there was nothing she treasured more than being surrounded by them. Through celebrations and hardships alike, she was a constant source of love and support. She listened without judgment, loved without condition, and was always there when you needed her.

Perhaps her greatest legacy is the way she made people feel. She shared her love with her family, her friends, and everyone fortunate to cross her path. Although she will be deeply missed, there is tremendous comfort in knowing how she fully lived and how deeply she was loved in return. Her kindness and love will live on through generations of her family who were so blessed to call her theirs.
