Laura Elaina Mooney, 55, devoted mother of Therese and Jimmy, beloved fiancé of Christopher Leahy, passed peacefully, surrounded by loved ones on Thursday, October 5, 2023
Laura was born in the Bronx, NY on June 28, 1968, to Michael Pinto and Edwina Vallejo. She is survived by her mother Edwina (Louie), her father Michael, her daughter Therese, her son Jimmy, her fiancé Chris, her brother Michael (Sara), her cousins Christine (Jim), Sal (Filomena) and so many others from the DeTorres and Pinto Families. She will be greatly missed by the Leahy and Mooney families and her dear friends whose relationships she cherished.
Laura attended Our Lady of Victory high school and went on to Pace University. She become a Software Specialist for IBM, working at most of the Westchester County locations for the better part of 15 years before starting her family.
Laura was greatly fond of family, her faith, travel, food, theater, cherished friends and making everyone laugh. We are deeply saddened by her passing, she will be forever missed by all.
Calling hours at the Fred H. McGrath & Son Funeral Home, Bronxville between the hours of 4 to 8pm on Tuesday. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Joseph’s Church, Bronxville on Wednesday, October 18 at 10:45am.
