Michael Agustus Ward on Sunday March 13. He died peacefully after a long illness.
He was born in Rye, NY on July 26, 1933. As a boy, he lived in Danville, IL and Scarsdale, NY. He graduated from Iona Preparatory School and the University of Notre Dame. He was a member of the U.S. Marine Corps. He lived in New Rochelle for fifty years. He worked as a securities analyst on Wall Street and established his own firm, Ward Transportation Research in 1988. He was a volunteer football coach for many years with the New Rochelle Youth Tackle League and Iona Prep. He was a member of Winged Foot Golf Club for 38 years and was an Irish citizen. He is survived by his wife Teresa, of 55 years and his nine children, Mary Josephine, Kathleen, Eileen, Margaret, Michael, William, Teresa, Daniel and Jeanne, their spouses and 27 grandchildren. Calling hours at the Fred H. McGrath and Son Funeral Home, Bronxville between the hours of 6 to 9 pm Tuesday and 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm Wednesday. Mass of Christian Burial at Holy Family Church, New Rochelle on Thursday March 17 at 10:30 am. In leiu of flowers, donations may be made to Heads Up! Pediatric Literacy.
