Thomas A. McNamara, a former long-time resident of Yonkers, NY passed away on December 10 in Myrtle Beach, SC at the age of 90.  Tom was raised in Tuckahoe, NY by his parents, the late William and Viola (Keane) McNamara and graduated from Immaculate Conception School, Fordham Prep and Fordham University.  He had one brother, William, who predeceased him.  He was married to Rosemary Short for almost 60 years prior to her death in April 2012 and together they raised four children who survive, MaryBeth Ringleib (Colin) of Bolivia, NC, Tom (Rosita) of Tuckahoe, NY, Gary (Elaine) of Monument, CO and Brian (Debbie) of Sunset Beach, NC.  He is also survived by seven grandchildren, Kerry Thomas (Russ), David Blumenthal, Elizabeth, Patricia, Thomas, Conor and Maggie McNamara, two step-granddaughters, Elisa Ackerly (Jay) and Laura Hodgson, and five great grandchildren.  Tom was a veteran of World War II, serving in the South Pacific and retired from Allstate Insurance Company after a long career.  He enjoyed bowling, playing golf, traveling and watching his children and grandchildren play on the athletic fields and sing, dance and play traditional Irish music.  He was very active in his community as a former president of the Hilltop Swimming Assoc. and helped form the Hillcrest Lakers Community Club where he served as a coach, commissioner and its president for many years.  He was also involved with various organizations at Our Lady of Fatima Church, St. Clare’s Academy and Archbishop Stepinac H.S. The family will receive friends at The Fred H. McGrath and Son Funeral Home in Bronxville, NY on Friday, December 20 from 4 – 8 PM.  A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Immaculate Conception Church in Tuckahoe at 9:30 AM on Saturday, December 21 with internment following at Mount Calvary Cemetery.
