James T. McGee, Jr., passed away on June 27, 2016. He was 96 years old. He leaves his dearly beloved daughter, Kathleen (Edgar) Tafur and step-daugther, Joann Hanney and step-daughter-in-law, Jean Miller. Jim was a devoted member of the Fordham University Class of 1940; receiving a Bachelor of Business Science degree. Jim was a pitcher for fours years on the Fordham baseball team and in 1939 his team played in a game celebrating the 100th Anniversary of baseball in Cooperstown. Jim entered the US army in 1942, served as a financial administrator and was honorably discharged as 1st lieutenant in 1946. In 1949 he married Margaret Daly, and his daughter, Kathleen was born in 1950. In 1960 Jim married Eva Adams Miller, a classmate at NYU. Jim was a devoted family man, avid baseball, hockey and football fan. He loved being an administrator and teaching. He was a loyal Fordham graduate and kept the class of 1940 in reunions for 65 years. Jim was pre-deceased by his wife Eva, and his siblings, Thomas, Robert and Anna. Calling hours at the Fred H. McGrath & Son, Funeral Home, Bronxville, from 9 to 10:30 am on Thursday, June 30th with Mass of Christian Burial to follow at St. Joseph’s Church, Bronxville, at 10:45.
