 James F. Lynch

Our father, James F. Lynch, passed on to eternal life on April 25, 2017. Born in NYC on December 10, 1926, he was a man of faith who relied on God for strength and guidance throughout his life. Jim was pre-deceased by six wonderful siblings; all first-generation Americans who worked hard to build legacies of love, loyalty and respect for tradition. He served the NYPD for 26 years as detective for the Kings County DA squad; followed by another 20 years of service with the NYS Attorney General’s Office; retiring as Assistant Chief of Investigators. Our Dad was an avid NY Yankees/Rangers/Giants fan and he had an opinion about all things political right till the very end. He was Uncle Jimmy to many; brother-in-law to Joyce Tigue; and favorite cousin to Carole (May) Oliva. He spent more than 60 years being proud to love “the Blonde”, Anne (Whiten) Lynch. Together they raised the six of us – Holly Burbank (Jon); Ellen Lynch (Dennis Morrissey); Patricia Lynch LoParrino (Tom); Kelly Bernacchia (Anthony); James T. Lynch; and Michael Lynch. His grandchildren – Ryan, Joshua and Lucas Burbank; Michael (Jackie) and Christopher Morrissey; Michael Anthony, Matthew and Patrick Bernacchia and Timothy LoParrino were blessed to have many years with PopPop. And we are so grateful he had the chance to know his great grandchildren: Jaden Deland, and Dylan, Elaina and Colton Morrissey. Our dad will be so very missed by all. Calling hours are Friday April 28th from 2-4 pm and 6-9pm at the Fred H. McGrath & Son, Funeral Home in Bronxville, NY. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Christ The King Church on North Broadway in Yonkers, on Saturday, April 29 at 10 am.
