Maria Rosario (Ching) passed away peacefully after complications to a neurological vascular condition on November 21, 2024. Ching is survived by her husband, Ramon, her children Denise (Joe), Aldo (Charisse), and five beloved grandchildren (Fiona James, Arianna, Alessandra, Joseph, and Francesca).
She was born on October 4, 1946 to Antonio and Teresa Ojeda in Manila, Philippines, where she grew up with her brothers, Victor and Augusto. She attended Assumption High School before pursuing medicine at University of Santo Tomas. After becoming a pediatrician and marrying the love of her life, she and Ramon moved their family to New York where she became a devout member of the St. Joseph’s Community for the past 40 years and remained in her primary vocation as an evidently selfless and loving wife, mother, and grandmother. She loved her family most of all.
Calling hours are 4-8pm on Friday, November 29 at the Fred H. McGrath & Son, Funeral Home, 20 Cedar Street, Bronxville, NY. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Church of St. Joseph, 15 Cedar Street, Bronxville, NY on Saturday, November 30 at 9:45am.

November 30, 2024 at 9:24 amChing was a truly unique friend and an exceptionally generous person. She was very thoughtful, giving, and would always go out of her way to help you out. She wouldn’t mind being inconvenienced, if she knew that she was helping someone and this always made that person feel special. Her death has left a void in our lives. We will truly miss her and New York will never be the same without her.
Rest in peace, Ching. The memories and experiences that we have shared with you and Mon, and your children, will always remain with us.
