Helen A. La Sala, 98, of Pelham Manor, NY, passed away peacefully in her home on Thursday October 29th. She had a long and very happy life surrounded by family. Always the “belle of the ball”, Helen loved to dance, sing, and go to the opera. Active in numerous charities and civic organizations, a sense of community was very important to her. Helen loved her Tuesday afternoons at the Manor Club, all of her wonderful friends at the Westchester Country Club as well as supporting her local parish Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church. Most of all she was at her happiest when she was with her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. Both Helen and her late husband Steve lived for summers in Point Lookout, NY to winter holidays in Ft Lauderdale with their homes brimming with children . She is survived by her three children, Stephen and Ginny La Sala of Dallas TX and LaJolla, CA, Elena Barnabei of Larchmont, NY, and Tom and Carrie La Sala of Pelham, NY as well as her nine grandchildren and twelve great grandchildren. The family will be receiving visitors on Monday, November 2, 2015 from 2 pm to 4 pm and from 7 pm to 9 pm at Fred H. McGrath & Son, Inc. The Funeral Home located at 20 Cedar Street in Bronxville, NY. In lieu of flowers, donations in Helen’s name can be made to The Boys and Girls Town of Italy, 250 East 63rd Street – Suite 204 New York, NY 10065. A funeral mass will be held at the Church of St. Joseph’s located at 15 Cedar Street in Bronxville on Tuesday, November 3, 2015 at 10:45 am. Interment to follow at Woodlawn Cemetery in The Bronx.
