Memorial Service: The Reformed Church of Bronxville to be announced
Graham J. Keenan, Sr., a retired Producer/Publisher of fine arts, posters, silk screen and limited editions and a veteran of World War II died on November 27, 2014 at the age of 87. Born in Cumberland, England, to Albert and Florence Mears Keenan, and raised in Heysham-Morecambe, England, he studied at the Institute of Technology at Preston, England, the Harris Institute of Technology at Preston, England and at Columbia University, NY. At the age of 16, during World War II, he was drafted into the Communications Division of the Royal Navy, saw active duty in the Mediterranean and served at the British Admiralty, Whitehall. At the end of WW II he sailed the oceans and major waterways of the worlds as a Communications Officer for the Marconi Company, a British telecommunications and engineering company until the early 1950’s when he came to New York. He then joined the Thomas Doran Company, leading publisher of greeting cards as Purchasing/Production Manager. While with Doran, he established a catalog of gifts and cards from all over the world which involved extensive travel to Italy, Hong Kong and Taiwan. As President of the Impress Graphics Division of the Donald Art Company, he exclusively represented and published artists covering Traditional, Contemporary and Oriental themes playing an important role in the decorative, accessory home fashion and Art industries. He has been a member of the Reformed Church of Bronxville for many years, also an avid golfer, he has been a member of Westchester Hills Golf Club since 1961. He leaves his wife, the former Carol Schaefer, three children, Lesley Veile, Graham, Jr. and Craig, six grandchildren, a great grandson and a brother, Brian. Calling hours at the Fred H. McGrath & Son, Funeral Home, Bronxville, between the hours of 2 to 5 pm Sunday, November 30th. A memorial service at the Reformed Church of Bronxville will be held at a later date. Memorial gifts to the Reformed Church of Bronxville would be greatly appreciated.
