Helenne Pyne O’Conner Kayser died Thursday June 6th in Bronxville NY at the age of 86. Born in Yonkers to Mary and William O’Connor, Helenne attended Gorton HS and NYU. She worked as a Medical Photographer at NY Eye and Ear Hospital, and Instructor at the NYU school of Ophthalmology. She was a strong advocate for children’s education, serving in many PTA leadership roles, including Westchester District Director, State Chairman for Special Education, and State Treasurer. She was a member of St. Andrews Curling Club. A lifelong reader and NY Times puzzler, she was the go-to person for answers – a great partner in Trivial Pursuit. She was a much beloved Grandmother. She was predeceased by her husband, Raymond A. Kayser. She is survived by her children Tony, Christine Eifler (Bob), Jeff (Susan), Tracy Messing (Gert), Derek (Karen), and 11 adoring grandchildren. Visitation at McGrath’s Funeral Home, 20 Cedar Street, Bronxville, Friday from 2-4 and 7-9. Funeral Mass at St. Joseph’s Church, Bronxville Saturday at 10 AM. Interment Gate of Heaven Cemetery.
