Joseph C. Pizzurro, born Sept. 17, 1925 in Bronx, NY, to Dominick and Virginia, immigrants from Montelepre, Sicily, older brother to Nick and Barbara.  Joe was a standout fullback on the football teams of Evander Childs High School and Fordham University where he received his Bachelor’s degree in 1946. He attended the University of Detroit where he earned a Masters of Chemistry and also fell in love with Margaret Holtkamp of Kalida, Ohio whom he married on July 1, 1950 and remained happily so until Margaret’s death fifty years later in 2000. Joe and Margaret raised their six children at their home in Scarsdale, NY. While continuing his studies and pursuing his doctorate at Purdue University, he left to take a job at Precision Valve Corporation in Yonkers, NY where he worked his entire career, rising to the position of Executive Vice President. He was instrumental in helping establish the company to a leadership position in the aerosol industry and traveled the world to coordinate and manage global operations.  He retired in 1990 and remained active as a member of the Board of Director’s until 2010. Joe was an avid golfer, both while a resident of NY and during his retirement in Hilton Head, SC and later in Florida.  From his days growing up in the Bronx he was a lifelong Yankees and NY football Giants fan, enjoying many Sunday games from his seats in section 332 in Giants Stadium. He found love a second time with his current wife Deborah and is survived by her as well as his six children, Joseph D. Pizzurro, Peter E. Pizzurro, Virginia A. Pizzurro, Mary Pizzurro Esposito, Elizabeth Pizzurro Ossoff, and Catherine Pizzurro Hliboki, ten grandchildren and three great grandchildren. Calling Hours at the Fred H. McGrath & Son Funeral Home, Bronxville between the hours of 4 to 9pm Monday. Mass of Christian Burial St. Joseph’s Church, Bronxville on Tuesday April 7 at 10:45am. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
