Dorothea Nevola Hamdan, 89, died February 22, 2013 with loving family by her side in Rye,
New York.She is the beloved wife of 54 years of Ali Hamdan and loving mother to Larry and Allen and daughters-in-law Teresa and Alexis, cherished grandmother to Sophia, Brian, Bella and Will. She is predeceased by adoring parents Nina and Stanley Nevola, sisters Marie, Philomena and Norma. She is survived by her loving brother Gabriel and his wife Juanita and many adoring nieces, nephews and grand nieces and nephews. Dorothea was formerly of South Orange, New Jersey, where she resided for 54 years. Dorothea was born on August 8, 1923 in Newark, New Jersey. Her greatest love was for her family. She was a warm and loving person who lived life with great enthusiasm and a giving spirit. She was devoted to her extended family and loved nurturing and caring for all. One of her greatest joys was organizing family gatherings, marking all the successes and milestones of life with those she loved. Visitation will be held at the Fred H. McGrath & Son Funeral Home, 20 Cedar Street, Bronxville, NY www.mcgrathandson.com on Monday, February 25th from 2-4pm and 7-9pm.
Mass of Christian burial will be held Tuesday, February 26th, at 10am at the Church of Saint Joseph in Bronxville, NY. Interment to follow at Gateof Heaven Chapel Mausoleum, 225 Ridgedale Avenue, East Hanover, NJ.
