Kate was the daughter of Maurice and Mary Welch and spent her early years in Mahopac, New York. It was there she met the love of her life, Bob Gomprecht, who was a medical student at NYU. They married in 1946 and subsequently moved to Bronxville. After raising her five children, Kate, never one to be idle, studied real estate and received her realtor’s license. She worked for years at various Bronxville Real Estate Agencies including Deed, Ragette and Bronxville-Ley.

Throughout her life, Kate was an amazing athlete. Her sports were varied, but she loved golf, bowling and swimming and excelled at them all.

She had many friends of all ages with whom she enjoyed a game of bridge, rummy 500, canasta as well as many laughs.

Kate tirelessly volunteered with causes throughout her years, including Misericordia Hospital Auxiliary, the Fordham Prep Mother’s Club, Saint Joseph’s Church and at multiple New York Corntoss events for ALS-TDI.
