Paul Gettler, 64 of New Rochelle passed away on Thursday May 21 at Calvary Hospital in the Bronx after a short illness. Born in Manhattan in 1956, Paul grew up in Yonkers, and graduated from New York University with a degree in History, and later obtained a Masters of Public Administration also from NYU. Paul worked for the New York City Department of Human Resources for over 20 years before retiring in 2012. Paul was an avid reader and history buff, and after retirement taught various classes in history and politics for many years. Paul leaves behind three siblings, as well as three nephews and four nieces, all of whom he loved and adored, as well as many friends. Paul was a fantastic brother, as well as a kind and wonderful person, and he will be sorely missed. A private visitation will be held on Tuesday, May 26, 2020 at The Fred H. McGrath & Son Funeral Home.
