Joan B. Fastiggi, age 59, passed away peacefully in her home in Bronxville, NY on January 9, 2019. She was born on February 17, 1959 in Bronxville to the late Rose and Vito Fastiggi of Bronxville and was a longtime resident of the area. She attended and graduated from Bronxville school system. She then went on to graduate with honors from Pace University. She applied her business skills at the Bank of New York for nearly twelve years. She then went on to become a paralegal, working for IBM and Scott Benson Real Estate. Joan (“Joanny”) did extensive volunteer work at the Compeer Group and had a great flair for helping others. She also was a devout parishioner of St. Eugene Church. She was an active political campaigner and worked for the Board of Elections. She also enjoyed travel. And, she supported the cause for rescue animals, including her own dear cat, Big Red. Her greatest passion was spending time with her loving family and many friends. She is survived by her sister Maryanne Fastiggi Healy and brother-in-law Brian Healy of New Rochelle, NY and their loving children Derek and Jessica (Goddaughter of Joanny), with all of whom she shared a deep love and special relationship. Her close extended family of many loving cousins and friends were also an important part of her life. All will miss Joanny’s warm, loving and generous presence, yet she will live on in our hearts always. Family, friends and others whose lives Joanny touched are invited to the Fred H. McGrath & Son, Funeral Home, 20 Cedar St, Bronxville on Sunday, January 13th, 2 – 4 and 6 – 8 pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place at St. Eugene Roman Catholic Church, 31 Massitoa Road, Yonkers, NY, Monday January 14th, at 10:00 am, followed by interment, at Ferncliff Mausoleum near other dear relatives and friends.
