“Ettie”
passed away peacefully on July 14, 2026, at the age of 89, surrounded by the love of her family. Her devoted son, Joseph, and daughter-in-law, Annmarie, were by her bedside, offering comfort and love in her final moments.
Born in the Bronx to Joseph and Sonia Lieberman, Ethel was the beloved sister of Bernie and Ira. She built a successful career as a paralegal, a profession she dedicated herself to until retiring at the age of 70.
Ethel embraced life with energy and enthusiasm. She enjoyed an active social life and treasured the many friendships she built over the years. Whether she was playing poker, mahjong, or canasta, she loved the laughter, companionship, and memories shared around the card table.
Above all else, Ethel was devoted to her family. She was the wife of her beloved husband the late John. She is survived by her loving son, Joseph, and daughter-in-law, Annmarie; her grandsons, John and Joey, and Joey’s fiancée, Shenoa; her granddaughter, Briana, her husband, AJ, and their son, Anthony; her sister-in-law Doreen step daughter Susan, husband Bob and daughter Tara who referred to her as Auntie. Also surviving are her many cherished nieces and nephews. And lastly her beloved granddog, Baci;
Her grandchildren were the center of her world, and nothing brought her greater joy than watching them grow. In recent years, that love expanded even further with the arrival of her great-grandson, Anthony, who quickly became the light of her life. Affectionately known by Ethel as “My Mr. Delicious,” Anthony brought endless smiles, laughter, and happiness to her days.
Ethel will be remembered for her selflessness, unwavering devotion to her family, and her generous heart. She gave of herself freely, always putting the people she loved before herself. Her warmth, humor, and unconditional love created a lasting legacy that will continue to live on in the hearts of her family and friends.
Though she will be deeply missed, the memories she created, the traditions she passed down, and the love she shared will remain with all who were fortunate enough to know her. Her life was a beautiful example of love, resilience, and family, and her legacy will endure for generations to come.

July 16, 2026 at 12:31 pmWe loved Ethel. She was such a caring person. She always wanted to know everythig about you and your problems and offered ways to fix them. We had so many great conversations and felt so close to her. She did everything she could for her family including raising her grandchildren and flying in from Florida to celebrate all occasions with them and was like a mother to Sadie. We will miss her so much!!
