Robert J. Crowley, Jr., 67 of Bronxville, NY beloved husband of Elizabeth, passed away at home on August 14th. He was the devoted father of Sarah H. Crowley (and future father-in-law of William T. Wiley, Jr.), Charlotte T. Crowley, brother of Brian E. Crowley and brother-in-law of Cecille Crowley. Bob was an investment banker (retired), most recently with the Carreden Group, Inc. and previously with Furman, Selz, Mager, Dietz and Birney, Inc. Bob graduated from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania (B.S. and M.B.A.) and was a member and former president of the Sigma Chi Fraternity. Bob was a member of Siwanoy Country Club, the Quogue Field Club, Quantuck Beach Club, Shinnecock Yacht Club and the Quogue Club at Hallock House. Family will receive friends at the Fred H. McGrath & Son, Funeral Home, between the hours of 4 to 7 pm, Sunday. Mass of Christian Burial, St. Joseph’s Church, Bronxville, on Monday, August 19 at 9:45 am. In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made to Catholic Charities Archdiocese of New York, 1101 First Avenue, 11th Floor, New York, NY 10022.

At Roxbury Latin Bob was always a calming influence, friendly with a wonderful sense of humor. I always enjoyed seeing him at reunions and am sure he will be missed by us all next year and in the future!

Bob’s fraternity brothers at Sigma Chi are spread out all across America and several countries besides. We are remembering Bob with great fondness this week. His steady leadership, loyal friendship and deep sense of fairness is remembered by us all. These are traits he brought to his time as an undergrad and grad student at Penn and then shared with his friends and colleagues for decades afterwards. Fun to see that his Roxbury Latin classmates remember Bob the same way we do. My deepest sympathies to Elizabeth, Sarah, Charlotte, Brian and Cecille.

embraced the values of our shared faith tradition in a turbulent time than Bob Crowley. His unwavering commitment to those values inspired the confidence that the brothers of the Phi Phi Sigma Chi chapter placed in him.
We were both blessed that his daughter Charlotte and my daughter Susan entered PENN in the same class. I was lucky that our daughter’s PENN matriculation brought us together and can now only regret losing Bob just when our lives would have given us more time to connect. My condolences to Betty, Sarah and Charlotte. Grant unto him eternal rest of Lord and let the perpetual light shine upon Brother Bob.

I was so sorry to hear of Bob’s passing. He was a wonderful guy and a true gentleman with a keen intellect. We had a wonderful time together years ago. I hope you are doing well and that life has treated you kindly.
