John Clifford, 76, is now at peace after his courageous battle with cancer. On Thursday, March 9, 2017, John passed away in the comfort of his home with loved ones by his side. John was born in Manhattan on October 1, 1940 to John and Julie (Fox) Clifford and raised in Yonkers, NY. Yonkers provided John with his childhood memories as well as lifelong opportunities. John’s passion for his career in the tire industry was well known by all who knew him. His devotion to his customers led him to become an integral part of the Kelly State Tire business in Westchester County for many years. John is survived by his loving wife of over 50 years, Jean (Engel) Clifford; three daughters, Kelly Mazzuchelli of Copake, NY, Karen Nitti of Warren, NJ, and Kim Petruska of Brookfield, CT; six grandchildren, Jenna, Dean, Frank, Brooke, Mary and Clifford (CJ); his sister Susan Clifford of Putney, VT, as well as several nieces and nephews. John was a devoted and loving husband, father, brother, grandfather and friend to all. John was an avid Yankee fan, enjoyed playing golf and spending time with his grandchildren. Memorial donations can be made to the Michael Frey Fund, c/o Eastchester Police Association, 40 Mill Road, Eastchester, NY 10709. There will be a private celebration of John’s life at a later date.
