Mary Caroline Leary Clark died on December 26, 2023. She was 88 years old.
She was predeceased by her husband John, son Danny and her brothers, Dan, Barrett and Tom Leary. She is survived by her children, Stephen Clark (Heidi), Margie Clark (Steve Finn) and Jennifer McGrath (Tim) and her grandchildren, Jack and David Clark, Kevin, Michael, Charlie and Carrie Finn and Tim, Caroline, Sean and Brendan McGrath, her sister Margot Badenhausen and many nieces and nephews.
Mary Caroline was born in Orange, NJ, the daughter of Daniel and Margaret Barrett Leary. She attended Convent of the Sacred Heart, Noroton, CT and graduated from Marymount College in Tarrytown, NY as an English major, the beginning of her lifelong love affair with reading. She taught sixth grade at St. Paul the Apostle Catholic School in New York before marrying John and devoting herself to raising her family.
She volunteered in her community, delivering Meals on Wheels and teaching CCD at St. Joseph’s Church. She was an adventurous traveler and played the piano by ear. She enjoyed many years on the tennis court before discovering a passion for golf. But most of all, she loved spending time with her family.
Calling Hours at the Fred H. McGrath & Son Funeral Home, Bronxville between the hours of 3 to 6pm on Friday. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Joseph’s Church, Bronxville on Saturday, December 30, 2023 at 9:45am. In Lieu of flowers contributions may be made to The Crohn’s & Colitis Foundation.
