Catherine “Clare” Carroll, 87, of Bronxville, NY, passed away on September 27 in Peachtree City, Georgia. Clare was born on August 24, 1929 in the Bronx to Agnes and Herbert Carroll. She attended St. Barnabas High School and graduated from Good Counsel College in White Plains. She started her career in banking in New York City and became one of the youngest branch managers at The Bank of New York. Following her banking career she worked in administration for the accounting department at Mercy College. Clare is preceded in death by her beloved brother, Herbert P. Carroll, and is survived by her sister-in-law, Claire Brady Carroll, her seven nieces and nephews: Patricia, Michael, Kevin, Regina, Sheila, Amy and Joseph, and seven great nieces and nephews and a great-great niece and nephew. Clare was a lover of life and a lover of animals. She had a quick wit, a warm smile, a wonderful laugh, countless friends, and always a kind word. She will be greatly missed. Visitation will be 5 to 8PM on Friday, October 7 at the Fred H. McGrath & Son, Funeral Home, McGrath’s Funeral Home in Bronxville. Mass of Christina Burial will be held at 9:45 AM on Saturday, October 8 at St. Joseph’s Church, Bronxville. Burial will follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be given to the ASPCA.
