Helen M. Britz née Messner
1919-2024
You all know the basic facts about this wonderful woman: born and raised in The Bronx. Graduate of Katherine Gibbs Business School, married in 1939 to John F. Britz and together raised five children. However, this doesn’t begin to capture the essence of this remarkable woman. For family she was the loving, compassionate and inspiring mother, grandmother, great grandmother, daughter, sister, aunt, cousin and in-law we’ve had our entire life, in unique and needed ways to each. To friends and neighbors she was the caring and loyal companion that drew them to each other for so many different reasons, and have shared so much we will never understand. How do you put all that into a few sentences? I think we all have our own perfect obituaries in our hearts and our memories. Only you, the friends and family that she loved so dearly can write the perfect obituary.
