George James Bellotti, 71, passed away on Monday, October 21, 2024. He was born on October 18, 1953 in the Bronx, New York to George and Philomena (Albanese).
Blessed with a wonderful family, George is survived by his wife of 40 years, Maureen, his two children Marisa (Jonathan) and Christopher (Elizabeth), and three beautiful grandchildren, Dylan, CJ, and Avery. He was also a beloved brother to Diane (deceased). In addition to his family, George also had many close friends, all of whom loved him dearly and feel so grateful for the time they had together.
Constantly surrounded by his family and friends, George was the type of man who became a focal point of whatever room he was in. He had a natural ability to relate to others and made everyone he interacted with feel like they had an individual relationship with him. He was always eager to share a story, advice and a few life lessons.
George had a contagious love of music and sports that he loved to share with friends and family. An avid Cowboys, Mets, and Rangers fan, George was always on top of following the success of his teams as well as the demise as his rival teams, particularly the Yankees, Giants, and Steelers.
Services for George will begin on Wednesday, October 23rd at McGrath Funeral Home in Bronxville, NY from 4pm – 8pm. A funeral will be held on Thursday, October 24th St. Joseph’s Church, Bronxville at 9:45am. Family and friends are invited to join in celebrating George’s life and the incredible person that he was. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation in George’s name to the National Kidney Foundation.

October 21, 2024 at 4:05 pmHi Maureen,
Liz told me of George’s passing. He was a wonderful person – he’s the one who opened the door for me to get into network engineering via Robert Half and whenever I relate the history of my career his name is always mentioned. That is a wonderful picture of him – the smile and the joy in his eyes. I’ll try to make it on Wednesday, but if not, please know that I’m thinking of you and praying for you and your family.

October 22, 2024 at 12:45 pmGeorge always had kind words and humorous remarks throughout the years I knew him. I remember his kindness towards me after my dad died in 1972 and was reminded of that earlier this month on the anniversary of my dad’s passing. But more importantly are the memories of laughing and listening to his musical favorites. I send love to Maureen, his children, grandchildren, and his long time circle of friends.

October 22, 2024 at 2:08 pmGeorge was one of my closest friends for 4 years at Salesian. We would always joke with each other and he always had a smile on his face. He was a great person to be around. Unfortunately, as life happens we did not stay in touch although I would hear about George from others whom we both knew. Rest in peace my friend. Condolence’s to Maureen and family.

November 2, 2024 at 9:45 pmDear Maureen and Family….Pat and I were heartbroken to hear of Georgie’s passing and wanted to reach out to you. Georgie was such a sweet kid—I was only five when he was born, and I remember that day so vividly. His mother, my Aunt Fanny, called him her miracle. One of my favorite memories was of Georgie fishing with my very German grandfather at my parents’ second home in Copake. Copake provided so many happy memories for our entire family, especially for Diane and Georgie. Uncle George tiled the bathroom there, among other things…those were truly special days. Georgie’s life wasn’t easy, especially after he lost his mother at ten years old, but he grew to be such a remarkable man. We, his entire family, are so very proud of him. His love, support, and kindness for my favorite cousin, his sister Diane, are further proof of his great love of family. Georgie was a true family man.
Thank you, Maureen, for the beautiful life you made for and with Georgie. Together, you built a wonderful family. He was especially proud that your son, Chris, looked like him, and he was sooooo proud of his two children and three grandchildren. I know he loved each of you dearly. I am thankful for the 71 years we were blessed to have him, and for the 40 years you shared together…..thank you for making him happy, May God watch over you and the family he loved so much. I know Georgie will always be with you, watching over you all with love and great pride. He was such a happy, and good guy. I am sorry I could not be there to support you and your children. Please know that Pat and I will be making a donation to the National Kidney Foundation in Georgie’s honor. Georgie passed knowing he was deeply loved—thank you for that. With all our love….Pat and Mary Lou
