In Loving Memory of Rosemary Walsh McCarthy
August 13, 1941 – October 17, 2025
Rosemary Walsh McCarthy, beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed away peacefully on October 17, 2025, at the age of 84. She was born on August 13, 1941, inSomerville, MA. Rosemary lived a life filled with love, laughter, and unwavering devotion to her family.
She is survived by her daughters: Lauren, Kristin (Bill),Katie(Chris) and Caroline (Bill).
Rosemary was a proud grandmother to Alex, Emma, Joe, Dermot, Grace, Colin, Katie, Duffy, Meg, Martin, Brendan, John, and Finn; and a loving great-grandmother to Madeline and Colin (children of Emma and Jake Peterson), and Gigi (daughter of Alex and Katie).
She was predeceased by her husband Joesph P. McCarthy, her brother Jack Walsh and sisters Virginia and Charlene.
Known affectionately as “Mims” by her grandchildren, Rosemary was the heart of her family. She is survived by 13 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren, all of whom adored her deeply. Her home was a place of warmth and joy, especially during summer beach trips where memories were made in the sand and sun. She brought the family together through spirited games of spoons and board games, where laughter echoed and bonds grew stronger.
Rosemary’s mashed potatoes and holiday bread were legendary—comfort food that carried the flavor of tradition and love. Her cooking was more than nourishment; it was a symbol of togetherness and care.
Her legacy lives on in the stories shared around the dinner table, the traditions passed down through generations, and the love she gave so freely. Rosemary’s life was a beautiful example of grace, generosity, and quiet strength. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
A celebration of her life will be at the Fred H. McGrath Funeral Home located at 20 Cedar Lane Bronxville, NY. On Tuesday, October 21, 2025 from 5pm-8pm. The funeral mass will be held on Wednesday, October 22, 2025 at 10am at Our Lady of Perpetual Help 559 Pelham Manor Rd. Pelham Manor, NY.
