Grogan, Margaret P September 30, 1934 - May 24, 2024

Margaret Patricia Grogan passed away peacefully on May 24, 2024 surrounded by her loving family. She was the fourth of six daughters born to Michael and Anna Finn on September 30, 1934 in New York City. Margaret attended St. Margaret’s Grammar School, Elizabeth Seton High School and graduated from Good Counsel College in 1954. While in college she met her husband John Joseph (Jack) Grogan. They married on November 10, 1956.  After raising her 7 children, she became  a kindergarten aide at St. Peter and Paul School in Fleetwood, NY for 18 years.

Margaret was extremely proud of her Irish heritage. She had fond memories of numerous travels to Ireland with family and friends. Without question, St Patrick’s Day was her favorite holiday, when the sounds of Irish music and the smells of Irish soda bread filled the air. She loved her time and summers spent at Pt. Lookout, NY in her mother “Nanny’s” house where she and her sisters would have up to 27 family members staying at one time, and then in her own home where many memories were created with her own children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Predeceased by her husband John Jack Grogan in 2012 and her grandson Kieran Grogan Jr., in 2013. She welcomed her son Kieran J Grogan (Christine) in heaven with open arms the next morning.  Margaret is survived by her children John Grogan, Neil Grogan, Thomas Grogan (Roma) Timothy Grogan (Cheryl), Margaret Galvin (Thomas), Gregory Grogan (Amy) and sister Mary C Fox. She was blessed with 16 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren.

‘Mrs G was a very special person to us, and our block. When she moved here “full time “
Meg asked if we could plan a special birthday for her and surprise her with a cake that Meg arranged. Everyone was happy to celebrate with her. In Mrs G s own time developed a loving motherly relationship with all of us. Thank you for sharing your mom with us. She was a gift!
Each one of her children are very special and know you are all very loved!
    J
