Lawrence L. Berglas, 90, of Scarsdale, NY, died on Feb. 11, 2016. Loving companion of 29 years to Susan Sedlmayer. Also surviving are Children and grandchildren. Lawrence was born in Essen, Germany and educated in Germany, Holland, England and Ireland. He served with the US Army of Occupation in Italy and was Honorably Discharged in June, 1947. He graduated in 1951 from Fordham University Summa Cum Laude with a B.Sc. in Education; in 1956, from NYU with a M.A. in Administration and in 1957 from Fordham Law (J.D.) Admitted to practice in March, 1958. Lawrence served the Eastchester Public Schools as a teacher and administrator from 1951 to 1986. At various times from 1958 to 1988, he taught law related courses at Fordham, NYU, Fairfield, CNR, Mercy and Elizabeth Seton. He also served on the Board of Directors at the Scarsdale Chateaux for 22 years. His presence, influence, intelligence and kindness will be remembered by all who knew him. Memorial visitation will be held at the Fred H. McGrath & Son, Funeral Home, between the hours of 11 to 2 pm, Saturday, February 20, 2016, with a remembrance service at 1:15 pm.
