Heubel, Gerard (Jerry) Joseph June 4, 1953 - October 20, 2026

Gerard (Jerry) Joseph Heubel passed away on October 20, 2026 at the age of 73.

Jerry was born in The Bronx, NY on June 4, 1953 to Joseph and Gloria Heubel. He was a dedicated brother to his three sisters, Barbara, Virginia (Jerry), and Joan (Bob). He studied close to home at Our Lady of Refuge School, Cardinal Hayes High School, and Fordham University, before moving to Chicago, IL, where he earned his JD at John Marshall Law School.

After beginning his career in Chicago, Jerry moved back to the East Coast to live and work in Manhattan. He welcomed his first son Daniel Joseph Heubel in 1982, and shortly after, moved into his forever home and prized possession, “the Mansion” in Crestwood, NY.

Jerry married the love of his life, Margaret (Meg) Fahey Heubel on August 18, 1990. Together, they welcomed MaryKate Heubel in 1992, Thomas Gerard Heubel in 1995, and Brian Patrick Heubel in 1997. Jerry is preceded in death by their son Brendan Michael Heubel (1994).

Jerry played an instrumental role in his extended family’s lives, including his 14 nieces and nephews, and especially that of his granddaughter Paige Gloria Heubel, born in 2020. Jerry and Paige formed a unique bond, exploring nature, cooking, and creativity together. Jerry’s sharp wit and love of earning a good laugh lives on in her.

Everything that Jerry did in his life was dedicated to his family. Everything he watched, read, listened to, and learned, he shared with his loved ones. He enjoyed participating in his kids’ interests, and when he didn’t, he loved a spirited debate.

After 13 years of dedicated work at Wilson Elser, Jerry retired in 2021, but he never stayed still for long. He spent the past five years traveling the world with Meg and soaking up the sun on their annual trip to Southampton. He stayed active by walking and playing golf, achieving a hole in one on the seventh hole at Mohansic Golf Course earlier this year. He loved riddles, puzzles, crosswords, and a competitive game of Scrabble. Jerry always stayed creative with woodworking, leaf pressing, drawing, cooking, baking, and gardening. And of course, Jerry was dedicated to his lifelong work maintaining “the Mansion.”

Jerry had an enormous heart, and to say he will be sorely missed by everyone who knew and loved him would be an understatement.

He is survived by his loving wife Meg, children Daniel (Trish), MaryKate, Thomas (Tara), and Brian (Madison), granddaughter Paige, sisters Barbara and Joan (Bob). Jerry is predeceased by his parents Gloria and Joseph, son Brendan, sister Virginia, nephew Karl, and brothers-in-law Blane Magee and John Fahey.

Family and friends are invited to celebrate Jerry’s life at McGrath & Son Funeral home, located at 20 Cedar St in Bronxville, NY on Sunday, October 25 from 2-6 PM. Jerry’s life will be celebrated at Annunciation Church, located at 470 Westchester Ave in Yonkers, NY on Monday, October 26 at 11 AM
